On December 11th 2008, a group of Calder Valley Ladies got together for a Special wreath making day. It was their second such event. This year they got together to raise some money to kindly donate to The Peacock Project.

The undisclosed number of Ladies and one Gent "Clive" who came in place of his wife (Brave Man), raised a much needed and very welcome £550.00.

Marianne Spender and Lesa Gledhill organised all the Wreath making foliage and Lesa kindly gave up her Kitchen and Dining room for the event.

The making of these Wreaths I believe is a well kept secret and only an elite group of ladies are in on it. However it is said, that in order to complete a day of Wreath making, it is tradition to partake in some delicious Home Made Soup and Smoked Salmon Sandwiches for lunch. Eat mountains of Mince Pies and, I have it on good authority that there was even some champagne flowing.

The Peacock Project would like to thank all the ladies and gent for their generosity and thoughts towards the Peacock project. This donation is enough to keep The Peacock Project drop in centre up and running for over two months. It will also help the many people who are in need of the services that are provided there.

Also a big thank you to "Linzi o'boy" our therapist, for making the Calder Valley Ladies aware of The Peacock Project.
